In the coal to oil plant area of Shenhua Ningxia coal industry group, the 4 million tons / year coal indirect liquefaction demonstration project has successfully produced oil, which marks the formal production of the project.
The localization rate of the technical module of the largest single set of coal to liquid filtration device in the world is as high as 98.5%, marking that China has developed "China core" in the field of coal to liquid chemical industry, breaking the situation that such technology has been monopolized by a few countries for a long time, exploring the development mode of coal deep processing industry in line with China's national conditions, and providing technical strategic reserves for the consolidation of national energy security.
The 4 million ton coal to oil project is a world-class project with strategic significance. Previously, most of the core technologies and high-end equipment in the coal to liquid chemical industry were imported with high cost.
The manufacturing of core technology and major equipment must be localized. At the beginning of Shenhua Ningxia coal industry group entering the field of coal chemical industry, there was no technical personnel reserve. Starting from the methanol headquarters with only 4 people, it developed, introduced and cultivated at the same time, and finally formed a scientific research team of nearly 7000 people.
In 2013, the 4 million ton coal to oil filtration unit project was approved by the national development and Reform Commission, and the project was required to undertake the task of independent localization of major technologies, equipment and materials, with a localization rate of more than 85%.
In the coal to oil plant area, Cai Lihong, general director of the construction headquarters of the coal to oil project, introduced the synthetic oil of the coal to oil process, saying that it has the advantages of ultra-low sulfur, low aromatics, high cetane number and low ash, and is superior to the Euro V standard. It is conducive to reducing the emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons and particulate matters, and to solving the problems of urban automobile exhaust pollution and haze control.
Coal to oil has realized the clean and efficient utilization and transformation of coal, minimized the consumption of coal, water and other resources, and reduced the discharge of "three wastes", meanwhile, it has also brought opportunities for the transformation and upgrading of coal enterprises. According to reports, the coal to oil project converts 20.46 million tons of coal every year, accounting for 20% of the total annual coal output of Ningxia. Moreover, the value of 1 ton of coal converted into oil is 7 times that of raw coal, which has a great effect on coal enterprises to get rid of difficulties.
China is rich in coal, poor in oil and little in gas, and its oil dependence on foreign countries has exceeded 60%. According to the prediction of the national energy administration, China's oil demand in 2020 will be 610 million tons, and the oil dependence on foreign countries will rise to 68%.

According to the trial use of such diesel fuel in Beijing's sanitation vehicles, the emission of various pollutants has been significantly reduced. "

After the project is completed and put into operation, the annual output of oil products will be 4.05 million tons. It is currently the coal indirect liquefaction demonstration project with the largest single investment scale, the largest unit and independent intellectual property rights in China.
