Wuhai coal based ethylene co production project starts

On April 19, Wuhai Hongyuan new energy technology Co., Ltd., a key project of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Wuhai City, held a foundation laying ceremony in the low carbon industrial park of Wuhai Economic Development Zone for the new process of acetylene chemical industry with an annual output of 400000 tons of PE multi production demonstration project. Shi Wanjun, Secretary of Wuhai municipal Party committee, Hao Jianjun, director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, Wang Feng, chairman of the CPPCC municipal committee, and Wu Daohong, chairman of the board of directors of Shenwu science and technology group attended the commencement ceremony and laid the foundation for the project. Gao Shihong, deputy secretary of the municipal Party committee and mayor, presided over the commencement ceremony.
The new process of acetylene chemical industry of Wuhai Hongyuan new energy technology Co., Ltd. with an annual output of 400000 tons of PE multi production demonstration project was implemented in Wuhai Economic Development Zone Low Carbon Industrial Park in September 2016. At present, the basic projects of central control room, central laboratory, maintenance workshop, lime kiln unit area, preheating furnace and life service center have been basically completed, with a total investment of 1.68 billion yuan. The investment is expected to be completed within 47.7 years The first phase of 800000 ton calcium carbide plant is planned to be completed by the end of this year, and it will be ignited and put into operation in June 2018; the whole joint production project is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2020.
It is reported that the project covers an area of 2798.1 mu, with a total investment of about 11.7 billion yuan. Using local long flame coal and limestone raw materials, the project adopts the new acetylene coal chemical technology independently developed by Shenwu group, which takes the new process of thermal storage calcium carbide production as the core, to produce intermediate products of calcium carbide, then polyolefin with calcium carbide as the raw material, by-product glycol, calcium carbide slag, tar, butene, etc. The construction scale of the project is 1.2 million tons of calcium carbide (intermediate products) and 400000 tons of polyethylene per year, including lime kiln device, calcium carbide device, glycol device, acetylene device, ethylene device, polyethylene device, gas filtration device, supporting public works and auxiliary works, etc.
On June 24, 2016, Shenwu Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. announced that its wholly-owned subsidiaries Hongyang Metallurgical Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. and Shenwu environmental protection technology Xinjiang Co., Ltd. signed "EPC general contract" and "equipment purchase and sale" contracts with Wuhai Shenwu respectively for 400000 T / a PE multi production demonstration project of Wuhai Shenwu Coal Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. The total contract amount is 3.915 billion yuan.
